First gig: I played a school dance at New Castle High School in
New Castle, Pennsylvania
First recording: I first recorded with the "Great Lake's
Band" from Youngstown, Ohio in 1977.
First Guitar: My first guitar was a Fender Stratocaster.
Steve started playing the guitar at ten years of age. Steve's
first band was called Axis. After the breakup of the band Axis
Steve joined the Great Lakes Band from Youngstown, Ohio in which
he played lead guitar from 1974 to 1982. With the Great Lakes
Band Steve had shared the stage with Rush, Boston, Montrose, UK
and the Baby's. After the breakup of the Great Lakes Band in 1982,
Steve performed in several rock bands in the Youngstown, OH area.
The Hern Brothers, Rick and Dave had first met Steve as he was
performing in a rock band called Hartbrak'r at a nightclub in
New Castle, PA. Rick and Dave were impressed with Steve's style.
The rest is history. After one rehearsal with the band, Steve
was in. Steve joined the Hern Brothers in 1988. Steve's nickname
is "Snake". If you dare, ask him why.
